This blog entry is not about taxes (my expertise), or selling to you, but what’s important to me and defines my business strategy.  It’s follow-up.  It’s an essential part of a successful life, and successful business.

With my business, tax resolution, follow-up is critical to success.  There’s follow-up with clients, with the IRS and State Tax Authorities, and follow-up with Appeals if necessary.

But this follow-up is not always enough.  We need to go one step further. We need, in some way, to help clients build a better financial life and future.

For example, if a small business owner has huge back taxes due to not paying quarterly estimated taxes, I think it’s prudent to follow-up for a quarter or two after the tax resolution is completed, and ask the client if they’re current with their taxes.   Follow-up.

Or, using this same example, perhaps the small business owner has tried to start a business several times, but it has not worked out.  An experienced CPA and tax specialist will be helpful in recommending whether it’s worth trying again, or perhaps it’s time for a business change.    Build a Better Financial Life.
